Two Women – One Vision

l.a.Eyeworks

March is National Women’s History Month and we wanted to welcome it by celebrating one of our FAVORITE eyewear brands, created by two of our FAVORITE women. That’s right… we’re talking about l.a.Eyeworks!

On September 9th, 1979, two friends from southern California, Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi, decided it was time to help people “to stop looking and to start seeing.” They wanted to challenge the current trends and norms in the eyewear industry by creating their own, imaginative ideas. After all, every person’s face and personality has different characteristics, why should all eyewear come from the same boring mold?

Today, nearly 36 years later, l.a.Eyeworks has taken over the designer eyewear world. With two Los Angeles storefronts and hundreds of unique frames, it’s safe to say these inspiring and innovative women have left their mark on the industry. In fact, walking down the street, it’s easy to spot a pair of these bold frames from a mile away. But these colorful collections aren’t just for artists. They are for different people with different styles. In fact, L.a.Eyeworks strives to create eyewear art that “conforms to no fashion sensibility but your own.”
