24 Karat Gold, that is! It is the time of year when we begin receiving the exciting new pieces that we ordered at Vision Expo West in Las Vegas, and one trend that was undeniable is that gold is a huge trend for the Spring/Summer collections for 2014! One of the boldest expressions of that trend was the GOLD collection from Tom Davies. This limited-edition mini-collection uses 24K gold in several ways—here, you see two of them. The first is a semi-rimless sunglass completely plated in 24K gold. This piece is definitely made for someone who wants to make a big, bold statement! The final luxurious touch on this piece is that the temple tips are made from smooth, polished buffalo horn.
The second piece is just a tiny bit more understated. A classic full-rim titanium in matte black with 24K gold plated rivets and temples. Simple and not TOO flashy, I don’t think that this piece will last for long!
Other pieces in the collection feature gold mirror on the sun lenses, and a truly unique piece that features crystal-clear acetate with 24K gold leaf suspended in the frame front, finished off with 24K gold plated hinges.
