Background: I was born and raised in Texas. My family as an extensive history in the Shepherd, TX, area. I have been a member of the Eye Elegance family since 2007, and I wear many hats—lab technician, optician, and office manager of the Montrose location.
I went to vocational school for optics, and have had many hours of continuing education. I took a short break from optical, during which time I worked as a prison guard for the state of Texas, however, my career path has always been in optics.
Extracurricular: I married the love of my life and partner, Terri, in 2015 and we currently reside in Cleveland, TX. Together we have five grandchildren and two dogs. My hobbies include woodworking, fishing, and hunting.
How Sonja Sees Things: I prefer lightweight frames, so my go-to glasses are my multiple pairs of Lindberg and 2.5. When I want a funkier look I opt for my bright blue Theos! For sunglasses, I stick to wrap-around Adidas for ultimate protection.
Trendwatching: My favorite brand would be Lindberg. They have the best warranty, the lightest weight, and few issues. The three-piece rimless models allow me to custom create my own designs. This ensures a one-of-a-kind look and allows for better comfort and fit.
Squad Goals: There isn’t “one thing” I like about working at Eye Elegance, there are many. The main thing is the integrity, the quality of the workmanship, and the customer service; these are qualities I have always longed for, anywhere I have ever worked. I also like educating and interacting with clients on their choices of eyeglass frames and lens technologies, as well as fit. I get to work with a great team of people and offer clients the best products in the industry.
