Thanks to everyone who participated in our week-long Grand Opening Celebration! We started the week off on Tuesday, October 15 with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. We were thrilled to have our representative on the City Council Ellen Cohen to help us kick off the week, along with invited media. We followed that with a really fun event on Wednesday night. We invited local fashion bloggers to view the new space, and got to show off what makes Eye Elegance different from other optical stores—our collection of handmade frames from all over the world! We were joined by celebrity makeup artist Edward Sanchez, the owner of Vanity Lounge in West Ave. Mr. Sanchez was recently named by Allure magazine as one of the “best of the best”! He showed us how to apply makeup to show off not only your beautiful eyes, but also the beautiful frames you are wearing.
On Thursday night we had a small gathering of family, friends and a few invited guests to a smart and sophisticated soiree. Catering by Canopy restaurant was fantastic and delicious! We really recommend that you try them out—they are our neighbor here in the shopping center. Local celebrity chef Claire Smith put together a wonderful menu, and we had some terrific wines from Houston Wine Merchant.
Saturday we featured our first Tom Davies Trunk Show! Tom Davies specializes in bespoke custom-made eyewear, and we spent the day ordering custom frames for a lot of clients! There is really something special about having something made just for you—custom fit and made to order, with your name engraved inside the temple. Thanks to our representative Mark S., we had a very successful show, with lots of happy customers!
The big celebration was on Tuesday the 22nd, and we had an all-day party. We really thank all of you who stopped in just to say congratulations, and to wish us well in our new space. We also want to thank Etnia Barcelona, Oliver Peoples, théo, Entourage of 7, Robert Marc, Face a Face, Lindberg and LA Eyeworks, who all contributed items for the fantastic swag bags we were able to present to our guests during all of these events, and who contributed frames for our Grand Opening raffles.
Speaking of the raffles, congratulations to the following people who won these great prizes:
Nikki Washington—blogger: Robert Marc Sunglass
Tim Fischer: Face a Face frame
Jonathan Russell: Entourage of 7 frame
Earl Sadberry: Lindberg frame
We will be contacting each of you about how to redeem your prizes!
Holiday Shopping Card is here!
Don’t forget the American Cancer Society’s annual Holiday Shopping Card begins on Thursday, October 24 and runs through Sunday, November 3. This is a great time to make a donation to a terrific cause, and save some money on your holiday shopping.
The Holiday Shopping Card is a unique fundraising event sponsored by VICTORY, a volunteer fundraising branch of the American Cancer Society. VICTORY was founded in 1987 to raise funds for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services in the Houston area. With approximately 130 members, incoming members make a four-year commitment to work year-round supporting their events, the Cattle Baron’s Ball and the Holiday Shopping Card. To date VICTORY has donated more than $32 million to their cause.
Purchase the Holiday Shopping Card for a minimum contribution of $70 and you will get a 20% discount on regularly priced merchandise at hundreds of stores in Houston and the surrounding area!
Eye Elegance is proud to continue our support of the Holiday Shopping Card—we have cards for sale now, and offer a 20% discount on regularly-priced frames and lenses. Stop in and we will be happy to explain the discounts and exceptions.
Once again, thanks to everyone who made our Grand Opening week special. We will continue to bring you the same great quality merchandise and the same exceptional service that you have come to expect from us, now in our fantastic new Montrose location!
